Visual Narrative project done for Shape & Image I course at Ewha Womans University for the 21-22 winter semester.
For this project, I was assigned to create two graphics that had side-by-side images which would tell a sort of narrative.
Cultural Content “Moonlight” (2016)
Barry Jenkins’ coming-of-age film “Moonlight” (2016) follows the story of an African-American male from childhood to adulthood. For this project, I wanted to express one of the main themes coming from the quote of, “In moonlight, black boys look blue,” the theme being one’s journey to discovering their identity. In the film, the color blue follows the main character as he continues to find out who he is from the inside, rather than from what others say. Usually, young children are not aware of the concept of self-identity. But for Little, he was already questioning his identity, igniting blue colors around and on him.
Growth — Decline California Wild Fires
California’s weather is usually associated as warm and sunny, often being seen as having the ideal temperature. While the weather is admittedly nice, the air can also become extremely dry, the sun can get intensely hot, and wind can blow very strong. Whenever this combination comes together, wild fires often start and can become out of control very fast. So although California is known as a place with “perfect weather,” there is also another very dangerous side to it.
